GR-5140 Chelating Agent
GR-5140 is an innovative, non-silicone hydrogen peroxide bleaching stabilizer designed specifically for pulp bleaching processes. It aims to address the industry challenge of ineffective hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) decomposition during conventional bleaching processes. Its core function is to strongly chelate (capture and lock) metal ions such as iron, manganese, and copper in water, preventing these ions from catalyzing the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into wasteful water and oxygen. This significantly improves bleaching efficiency and reduces chemical consumption.
Under the demanding bleaching environment of high temperature and high alkalinity, GR-5140 intelligently regulates the decomposition rate of hydrogen peroxide, ensuring that it is effectively used to bleach pigments and impurities in the pulp, rather than being wasted.

Product Introduction

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Model GR-5140:

This non-silicon bleaching agent strongly ch elates metal ions to prevent them from t riggering wasteful hydrogen pe roxide breakdown .  It  regulates  peroxid e decomposition under harsh conditions, ensuring stable, efficient bleaching while reducing peroxide consumption. By binding metal ions into stable complexes, it stops the m fro m bei ng a bsorbed by pulporcat a lyzing  peroxide decompos it ion , significantly  improving  bleaching effectiveness. Pretreatment with this agent minimizes peroxide waste and enhances bleaching results.

Product Advantages

1. Environmentally Friendly

Phosphorus-Free Formula: Avoids eutrophication caused by traditional phosphorus-containing chelating agents.

Biodegradability: The molecular structure is designed to balance performance and biodegradability, reducing the risk of environmental residues.

2. Process Compatibility

Wide pH Adaptability: Remains active within a pH range of 3-12, eliminating the need for precise pH adjustment.

Temperature Stability: Withstands temperatures from 20°C to boiling, suitable for both cold-batch and high-temperature cooking processes.

3. Economic Benefits

Overall Cost Reduction:

Reduces hydrogen peroxide usage by over 30%;

Extends bleaching equipment cleaning cycles by over 50%;

Increases pulp yield (reduces fiber degradation caused by over-bleaching).

4. Quality Improvement

Prevents "Metal Spotting": By locking metal ions, it prevents dark spots from forming in the pulp and improves the uniformity of the finished paper.

Preserving Fiber Strength: Precisely controlling the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide reduces cellulose chain breakage, increasing pulp tensile strength by 10%-15%.

5. Ease of Use

Liquid Formulation: Can be added directly via a metering pump, eliminating the need for pre-dissolution.

Synergy with Additives: Excellent compatibility with bleaching aids such as surfactants and penetrants, preventing precipitation.

Can be expanded to the following industrial scenarios:

1. Textile Printing and Dyeing Industry

Fabric Bleaching: Used in the hydrogen peroxide bleaching process for natural fibers such as cotton and linen, preventing metal ion catalysis that can damage fiber strength and cause uneven whiteness.

Wastewater Treatment: Integrates heavy metal ions (such as chromium and zinc) in dye vats and wastewater, reducing heavy metal contamination and improving wastewater biochemical treatment efficiency.

2. Food Processing and Packaging

Food-Grade Pulp Bleaching: Suitable for bleaching food packaging paper and paper cup base paper. Its silica-free nature prevents contact contamination and complies with FDA standards.

Equipment Cleaning: Used in the hydrogen peroxide disinfection process of CIP (Cleaning in Place) systems in food processing lines, stabilizing disinfectant concentration and improving sterilization efficiency.

3. Industrial Water Treatment

RO Membrane Pretreatment: Added to the front end of reverse osmosis systems, it chelates iron and manganese ions in the influent, delaying membrane fouling and extending membrane life.

Cooling Water Systems: Controls metal ion scaling in circulating water, reducing deposits in pipes and heat exchangers.

4. Environmental Protection and Renewable Resources

Waste Paper Deinking Process: Used in the hydrogen peroxide bleaching stage of recycled pulp, it overcomes the catalytic interference of residual metal ions in ink and improves the whiteness of recycled paper.

Sludge Dewatering: By integrating metal ions in sludge, it improves flocculation and reduces sludge moisture content.
