GR-ASA is a high-performance specialty papermaking chemical whose core ingredient is alkenyl succinic anhydride (ASA). It is a reactive sizing agent, meaning it forms a strong chemical reaction with the cellulose in paper fibers, permanently imparting excellent water-repellency (i.e., sizing) to paper and board.
Unlike traditional sizing agents, GR-ASA is designed for broad adaptability, suitable for both traditional acidic papermaking environments and modern, mainstream alkaline papermaking processes. Its applications range from premium fine paper (such as writing paper, offset printing paper, and xerographic copy paper) to various packaging papers (such as containerboard, corrugated medium, and coated base paper).
