AFK-100B is a defoamer based on mineral oil. It is superior to traditional non- silicon defoamers in dynamic defoaming, foam suppression and durability, while effectively avoiding the shortcomings of silicone defoamers, such as poor affinity and easy shrinkage. It has the characteristics of good dispersibility and strong defoaming ability, and is suitable for various latex systems and corresponding coating systems.

Latex paint is a water-dispersible paint. It's made with a synthetic resin emulsion as its base, a ground and dispersed filler, and various additives. Latex paint offers many advantages over traditional wall paints, including ease of application, rapid drying, and excellent water and scrub resistance.Latex paint has become one of the main choices for people's interior decoration.
However, latex paint uses water as a diluent. During the emulsion polymerization process, a certain amount of emulsifier is required to produce a stable aqueous dispersion. The use of emulsifiers rapidly reduces the surface tension of the emulsion system, which is the primary cause of foaming. Wetting agents and other additives used to disperse pigments in latex paint also reduce the system's surface tension, contributing to the generation and stabilization of foam.
The low viscosity of latex paint makes it difficult to apply. The use of thickeners thickens the foam walls, increasing its elasticity and making the foam more stable and difficult to dissipate. The production process uses various high-speed mixers, such as three-roll mills, sand mills, and ball mills. This process introduces large amounts of air.
Latex paint is applied using various processes, including air spray, airless spray, roller coating, foam spray, and curtain coating. These processes increase the free energy of the coating system to varying degrees, thereby promoting the formation of foam.

Continuous foaming can limit mixing speed, slowing production and extending production cycles.
Excessive foam can prevent packaging drums from being fully filled, affecting packaging quality. Surface defects and unevenness can occur during application, impacting appearance.
Adding a defoamer during latex paint production helps suppress foam during the pulping process, break bubbles during the paint mixing process, and provide long-lasting foam suppression during the coating process. This ensures stable paint quality during storage and prevents delamination.
