◼PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AFY-300 is a silicone-free, solvent-free oil-based defoamer with excellent heat and oxidation resistance. It is soluble in various non-polar solvents. This product can completely eliminate tiny bubbles in the system and has outstanding anti-foaming properties. It is widely used in paints and coatings.
◼FEATURES
Complete elimination of tiny bubbles, long-lasting foam suppression.
Good chemical stability.
No silicon, no solvent.
◼APPLICATION AREA
Polyurethane paint, epoxy paint, oil-based paint.
◼How to use
This system is an oil-based defoamer with excellent defoaming and foam suppression properties. It can be added after foam is generated or pre-added to the product as a foam suppressant. Depending on the application system, the defoamer dosage is generally 0.1% to 0.8%. The optimal dosage should be determined by the customer through testing based on actual conditions.
This product can be added directly to the foaming system or diluted with a short-chain aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent. A small-scale test is recommended before dilution to avoid abnormalities such as stratification and precipitation.
◼Application of Oil-Based Defoamers in Printing Inks
Oil-based defoamers are key additives in solvent-based printing ink systems, specifically designed to address the foaming issues that occur during the production, circulation, and printing processes of organic solvent-based inks. Their core role is to ensure stable ink quality and an efficient and smooth printing process.
1.Core Functions:
Eliminating Production Foam: The high-speed mixing and grinding process during ink manufacturing can easily entrap air and form foam. Defoamers quickly burst these bubbles, improving production efficiency.
Ensuring Print Quality: During printing (especially at high speeds), foam can cause surface defects such as white spots, pinholes, fisheyes, and orange peel, resulting in incomplete designs and uneven colors. Effective defoaming produces smooth, flawless prints.
Maintaining Operational Stability: Foam can accumulate in the ink tank, disrupting ink circulation and transfer, leading to uneven ink application and even overflow, resulting in waste and machine contamination. Effective defoaming ensures the continuity and stability of the printing process.
2.Product Characteristics and Requirements:
Defoamers for solvent-based inks must meet extremely high requirements:
System Compatibility: They must be compatible with organic solvents such as benzene, esters, and ketones, and be evenly dispersed in the ink without causing side effects such as cratering, ink cloudiness, or gloss loss.
High Efficiency and Durability: They must maintain high and long-lasting defoaming and antifoaming properties even under strong mechanical shear forces, preventing recurrence of foam.
Stability: They must exhibit excellent chemical stability, not react with other ink components (such as resins and additives), and exhibit no stratification or precipitation after storage.
