Can be used as a standalone full-bed catalyst in any reaction stage of the Claus reactor. In a staged loading scheme, GR-971 is typically placed in the upper portion of the converter, leveraging its excellent organic sulfur hydrolysis and Claus reaction activity to process complex gases, while the alumina catalyst is placed in the lower portion to further complete the Claus reaction.

It is suitable for various concentrations of hydrogen sulfide and process conditions. It can be loaded in full bed at any stage of claus reactor or combined with other types and functions of catalysts through staged loading. when used for staged loading, GR-971is loaded in the upper part of the converter, while alumina- based catalysts GR-02or GR-300are loaded in the bottom of the converter. It is also suitable for cBA sulfur recovery process.
